PROPOSED MOVE FOR BEACON HILL POST OFFICE, OPEN SEVEN DAYS A WEEK & SIGNIFICANTLY LONGER HOURS

The Post Office is proposing to relocate Beacon Hill Post Office to 1 Hampton Terrace, Beacon Hill Road, Beacon Hill, Hindhead, GU26 6NR with significantly longer opening hours.

 

It would be a modern local-style branch with Post Office services delivered from a low-screened till alongside the retail counter of the convenience store.

 

The opening hours would be Monday to Saturday: 7am – 8pm; Sunday; 7am – 4pm.

 

This would mean that the branch would open be open an extra 38 hours and 30 minutes a week including earlier all day Sunday and Saturday afternoon. The branch would also open significantly earlier and would close much later for customer convenience.

 

There would also be improved access as there is a step down into the branch at the current premises, but there would be level access at the proposed location.

 

The proposed move from Beacon Hill Road, Hindhead, GU26 6QL would be with the current Postmaster’s agreement.

 

The move would be part of a major modernisation programme across the Post Office network designed to make it easier for customers to do business, through longer opening hours and modern open plan environments.

Suzanne Richardson, Regional Network Manager, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their comments on the move in a public consultation. During the public consultation, Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered before a final decision is taken on this proposal. The consultation will close on 31 October 2017.
